L’UCA est une jeune université, créée en 1978, qui n’a cessé d’évoluer et de confirmer son positionnement au niveau national et international autant par l’évolution de son effectif d’étudiants que par la diversification de son offre de formation ou encore par la recherche et le rayonnement national et international.

Quelques Chiffres :
Aujourd’hui, l’Université Cadi Ayyad compte 13 établissements universitaires dont 9 sont situés à Marrakech, 3 établissements à Safi, une EST à Essaouira et un Centre Universitaire à Kelaa des Sraghna. Elle couvre donc la nouvelle région Marrakech-Safi. 2 nouvelles institutions vont venir agrandir notre université, il s’agit de la faculté de la Langue Arabe de Marrakech qui sera rattachée à l’Université Cadi Ayyad et de l’EST de Kelaa des Sraghna qui sera créée courant de l’année prochaine.
Elle accueille cette année 2015/2016 environ 70.000 étudiants, dont plus de 600 étudiants internationaux. L’effectif des étudiants a connu une hausse considérable depuis les 4 dernière année, avec +10 par rapport à 2014/2015 et +26% par rapport à 2013/2013. Il représente également plus que le double de l’effectif de 2010/2011.
L’UCA a oeuvré pour accompagner cette évolution des effectifs en augmentant la capacité d’accueil dans les établissements à accès ouvert particulièrement. Cette capacité d’accueil est passée de 33.000 places physiques et 2010/2011 à plus de 44.700 places physiques en 2014/2015. Elle sera renforcée encore plus avec le nouveau projet du Campus Intégré de Tamansourt (60.000 places prévues pour 2018) et avec d’autres extensions en cours d’achèvement.
Consciente de l’insuffisance de telles mesures qui demandent de plus en plus de moyens financiers, et qui sont programmées sur plusieurs années, en plus de l’insuffisance des postes budgétaires, l’UCA a opté pour le choix d’instaurer une pédagogie innovante basée sur les nouvelles technologies. D’où la mise en place d’un Centre d’Innovation Pédagogique en 2013. L’un des premiers projets développés au sein de cette structure est la plateforme UC@MOOC qui compte aujourd’hui plus de 240 unité pédagogiques mises en ligne en accès libre.
Par ailleurs, l’UCA est reconnue à l’international pour la qualité de sa recherche scientifiques. Ses 1470 enseignants chercheurs, appuyés par plus 820 cadres administratifs et techniciens, sont à l’origine de plus de 500 publications de haute qualité.
La qualité de la production scientifique, associée à la collaboration étroite qui lie les 146 structures de recherche de l’UCA à plus 580 organismes de recherche dans le monde a permis à l’université Cadi Ayyad de figurer au TOP 400 du Palmarès des université en 2014. Ce résultat, s’est confirmé dans plusieurs classements ultérieurs.
